I have been doing weddings in Gibraltar for years, and the truth is that it is one of my favorite places, although it is located in the south of Spain, it is very different as it is a British colony. And this difference makes everything very attractive for a wedding photographer in Gibraltar.
Hayelena and Jay made a solo getaway to get married in Gibraltar, a beautiful intimate wedding. I love these elopement weddings because you build a lot of trust with the couple, I even usually witness the civil ceremony, as I did in this case.
In this type of intimate wedding, everything is very comfortable and it allows me to take photos with more time and therefore in a more relaxed way. The couples are in no hurry and we dedicate ourselves to walking through the beautiful places that Gibraltar has to offer, looking for the best light and the most beautiful landscapes, to take natural and romantic photos.
The ceremony in the botanical garden was beautiful, surrounded by hundreds of plant species, all green, it is ideal for a wedding with no or very few guests.
Everything was very simple, the cake, the bouquet of flowers, but the reality is that the best thing about these weddings is their simplicity, the place has everything and it is best not to overload anything.
During the photo session, we also had time to go to the lighthouse, also called Punta Europa, one of the closest places to the African continent.
And of course, the photo of the couple with the rock in the background could not be missing, imitating the famous photo of John Lennon and Yoko Ono’s wedding.
